A picturesque suburb of Denver, Highlands Ranch is not only known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant community but also for its exceptional educational institutions. For prospective homebuyers, the quality of local schools is often a crucial factor in their decision-making process. The best schools for Highlands Ranch real estate are more than just educational institutions — they are vital components that significantly influence property values and neighborhood desirability.

How Schools Influence Highlands Ranch Real Estate

Schools are among the most influential factors in the Highlands Ranch real estate market. Access to high-quality education is a top priority for families, and homes near top schools often see increased demand. This demand translates into higher property values, making these neighborhoods particularly attractive for both buyers and investors.

The impact of schools like Valor Christian High School, Stem School Highlands Ranch, and Rock Canyon High School extends beyond just the immediate area. These institutions contribute to the overall desirability of Highlands Ranch as a community, attracting families from across the region and even out of state. For real estate investors, properties in areas served by top-rated schools represent a stable investment with the potential for long-term appreciation.

The Douglas County School District's commitment to educational excellence reinforces Highlands Ranch’s reputation as a family-centric community. This commitment not only benefits students but also enhances property values across the board, making the area a magnet for homebuyers who prioritize education.

Valor Christian High School: Elevating Property Demand

Located a mere two miles from the heart of Highlands Ranch, Valor Christian High School is one of the premier private schools in the area. It offers a rigorous academic program coupled with a strong emphasis on character development. Since its founding in 2007, Valor Christian has quickly gained a reputation for academic excellence and its outstanding athletics and arts programs.

From a real estate perspective, proximity to Valor Christian High School can greatly enhance a property's appeal. Families seeking a top-tier private education for their children often prioritize homes within convenient commuting distance to the school. As a result, neighborhoods near Valor Christian tend to experience higher demand, which can drive up property values and lead to quicker sales. For homeowners and investors, being near a respected institution like Valor Christian is a significant asset that adds to a property's long-term value.

Stem School Highlands Ranch: Attracting Tech-Savvy Buyers

Stem School Highlands Ranch offers a specialized educational experience focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). As a K-12 charter school in the Douglas County School District, it provides an inquiry-based, hands-on learning environment that appeals to families passionate about innovation and future-focused education. The best part? It’s located seven minutes from the beating heart of Highlands Ranch.

For real estate in Highlands Ranch, the presence of a school like Stem School Highlands Ranch is a key selling point. Homes near the school are particularly attractive to buyers who value STEM education and wish to provide their children with opportunities to excel in these fields. The school’s reputation for fostering creativity and critical thinking makes nearby properties desirable to tech-savvy families and professionals, further enhancing the area's real estate market.

Rock Canyon High School: Boosting Public School Appeal

At a short commute of nine minutes from Highlands Ranch, Rock Canyon High School is one of the highest-rated public high schools in the area and plays a critical role in the local real estate landscape. As part of the Douglas County School District, Rock Canyon is known for its strong academic programs, including a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses and extracurricular activities that cater to diverse student interests.

The school's stellar reputation has a direct impact on real estate in its catchment area. Homes zoned for Rock Canyon High School are highly sought after, particularly by families who prefer public education but do not want to compromise on quality. This demand contributes to higher property values and a competitive housing market in neighborhoods served by the school. For sellers, listing a home within the Rock Canyon High School boundaries can be a major selling point that attracts more potential buyers and leads to quicker transactions.

Brian’s wife Sarah Grimm became licensed in 2003 and was his guide into the real estate industry. He started working as her unofficial assistant, giving him the chance to gain unique hands-on training in the field by being involved in the business, even if not in an official capacity. He learned the ins and outs of the job by creating marketing plans, meeting clients, and even installing open house signs.

In 2015, Brian and Sarah decided to become partners. Once licensed, they formed the boutique brokerage Luxe Living. Sarah served as Brian’s managing broker for three years while continuing his training. Unfortunately, Sarah had to step down to take care of her health, so Brian took over her former position as managing broker.
